Dr. Burry, Dr. Karamanis and Dr. Klopp use only the finest dental materials. They attend advanced courses on the newest dental technologies and techniques, and their Courtenay office is equipped with the latest tools and materials to help create and maintain the smile of your dreams.
Our entire dental team considers continuing education to be both an obligation to our patients as well as an ongoing part of their commitment to professional excellence. The entire staff attends several courses throughout the year. These include both clinical dental courses and courses for the reception team.

Dr. Brett Burry
Dr. Burry graduated in 1993 from Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Dentistry with the distinction of being his class valedictorian. He had received a number of awards during his formal dental education. These included awards for highest proficiency and skill. They were awarded in the areas of oral surgery and fixed prosthodontics.
He has practiced dentistry in the Comox Valley exclusively since 1993 and has completed further dental education in several areas. These include advanced cosmetic dentistry procedures, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, and dentures), periodontics (gum surgery), oral and inhalation sedation, and dental implantology. These were completed under the instruction of North America’s finest dental educators and scholars.
Dr. Burry currently runs his general dental practice with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry, implant placement, and complex restorative dental procedures.
He is currently a member of the Canadian Dental Association, British Columbia Dental Association and the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.
Dr. Emmanuel Karamanis
Dr. Karamanis grew up in Montreal where he received his D.D.S. from McGill University Faculty of Dentistry in 1992. He received a number of awards including the Canadian Dental Association Student Award. After graduation, he spent four years as a dentist for the Canadian military.
In 1994, Dr. Karamanis was certified to restore dental implants by Branemark and in 2006 to place implants. He is constantly upgrading his skills with hundreds of hours of continuing education. This allows him to bring the latest materials and technologies to the Comox Valley. Dr. Karamanis has studied under many famous mentors including Dr. Gord Christensen and Dr. John C. Kois, and he is currently a mentor at the Kois Center®: Advancing Dentistry Through Science. Currently. Dr. Karamanis mentors other dentists in this teaching center in Seattle, helping them learn the latest techniques in complex restorative and aesthetic dentistry using risk assessment and evidence-based dentistry.
Dr. Karamanis has been in the Comox Valley since 1992 and has completed advanced studies in full-mouth and rehabilitative dentistry, including advanced cosmetic dentistry, porcelain veneers, dental implants, crowns and bridges, oral and inhalation sedation, as well as dentures and implant supported dentures.
He is currently a member of the Canadian Dental Association and the British Columbia Dental Association, as well as the College of Dental Surgeons of BC.
Dr. Karamanis and his wife Michelina have two boys, Nikolas and Alexandros. Outside the office, he likes to volunteer with local sporting clubs and has coached hockey, soccer, and basketball for many years. When not at the arena, he enjoys golfing and fishing with his family.
Dr. KLOPP
Dr. Airell Klopp is the newest member of our Acreview Team. He was born in B.C. and grew up in the Cariboo region but has been an annual visitor to the Comox Valley since the age of 5 to visit family. He received his BSC in Biology in Prince George and his dental degree from Western University in London, Ontario. Dr. Klopp comes by his enthusiasm for dentistry naturally with his mother being a dentist in Williams Lake for over 30 years. He is most excited about living in the Comox Valley, working with patients of all ages and utilizing his skills with modern dental technology at Acrevew Dental.
